Well, I wrote this post because the name of the mansion caught my attention! Sure, you know what I'm talking about: WINCHESTER. Winchester's not just the name of our dear brothers, is the brand name of guns and a haunted mansion!
But what story is behind this haunting? We'll see now!
It all started when in 1862, Sarah Pardee married businessman William Wirt Winchester, son of the rifles` maker of Winchester rifles. William died in 1881, and an uncontrollable fear gripped Sarah. Noises occurred days and nights
Sarah decided to seek help in a spiritual center in Boston to find out what was going on and the medium said that her husband was surrounded by the spirits of people killed by Winchester rifles. She should build rooms, so the spirits of light would remain in the house, offering peace and making the noises stop. But nothing happened, noises continued to harass Sarah, who decided to build the house until the end of her life. She spent more than 38 years building winding passages, a maze of stairs and doors leading to nowhere, which were designed to confuse the ghosts of evil spirits. Sarah lived in seclusion for twenty-two years and died in 1922 at age 85.
Today the house covers nearly 2.5 hectares of landscaped area, has 160 rooms (originally he was only 8!), 47 fireplaces, 13 bathrooms, 52 skylights and windows almost 10,000! Only Sarah's death in 1922 halted construction. She spent almost 5.5 million dollars, and today, in present value terms, is equivalent to 53 million dollars.
The most mysterious room of the house is the blue room, which is where Sarah was driving his private seances. Nobody put a foot in this room while she was alive. Some believe that the room is a gateway for visitors from another dimension.
Blue Room: The most haunted room in the house!
Today, nobody lives in the house, but it is open to tourists wishing to visit her. Even today, say they often see ghosts. Some people say that Sarah Winchester still walks down the corridors.
Shara Smith works at home and the first time she was alone, she went into a bedroom. "The door closed behindme and I could feel an enormous pressure in there, it seemed that the walls were closing around me. I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. "Shara said.
These stairs lead to nowhere!
Two employees who work at the house today, John and Jack Sttubert, agree that the room is a passage to another world."I turned, looked into the hallway and saw a man standing there. Then he disappeared and I went down to see if anyone was at home, but there was nobody there. I never believed in spirits, ghosts or whatever, but I now believe that acts something this house. " said Jack.
There are some curiosities in the mansion of Sarah (located in San Jose - California): a staircase that ends up on the roof; entries for tall ghost and narrow doors for smaller ghosts, a zigzag staircase with seven departures andforty-four steps, where one reaches the top rising three meters.
To complete ... There is a door that opens to a drop which will correspond to two floors.
You should know the TAPS, I found some videos of them in Winchester Mansion ... But unfortunately they did not find any clue that the place is truly haunted. But I still think nothing happened just the night they were there, because the history of the place I think has a good chance it is really haunted.
